Yelp is an online directory created to help potential customers find local businesses online. Yelp allows business owners to create a free business account to list their business, post photos, and interact with customers. Yelp also allows businesses to pay for advertising space on the site. With 140 million unique visits per month and over 60 million local reviews, it is easy to see why claiming your business on Yelp will help raise awareness of your business and generate sales.
How to Create a Yelp Business Account, The Steps:
- Visit biz.yelp.ca and enter your businesses name and address, then hit search. You will then be shown a list of businesses that fit the search criteria. Scroll through the results and search for your business.
Once you find your business, click on "Claim this business".
If your business is nowhere to be found, ensure the appropriate search criteria has been used. If it is correct, then this means your business is simply not yet listed on Yelp. To list the business click on the "Add your business to Yelp" link located at the bottom of the search results.
You will now be directed to a page to create a business owner account. Fill out the required information and create the account or log in if you already have an account.
Once completed, Yelp will send a confirmation email to the email address provided.
If you have created the listing, it may take a few days for the listing to be approved. You will have to wait for confirmation and instruction for claiming the business.
You will now be directed to a page like this. Ensure the map is accurately pointing to your location. Here you can edit information such as business hours and category. Make sure to add any photos if available.
- Once you have finished editing the information, the listing is ready!
